Tree Tour Series
Do you love walking? Do you love trees? Then this series is for you! Walk the Arboretum grounds in spring, summer, and fall while learning from our very own Tree Expert! Paul has spent the past few years cataloguing and learning about all of our 700+ trees. Wear your walking shoes and bring a light lawn chair if you would like to sit for our breaks. Held rain or shine, class minimum of 5.

Making Hypertufa Containers 101
Back by popular demand! Have you ever seen the beautiful containers of succulents outside the Education Center? Have you thought it would be lovely to add such a unique container to your front or back yard? Then sign up for this class! These pots are lighter weight than terra cotta and slightly porous and will make you the envy of the neighborhood! Wear old clothes and bring rubber gloves if you wish. Class Limit 10

Come and learn what’s hot in the world of gardening for this year. Heidi will share the latest trends in garden design, colors, and containers as well new annuals and perennials on the market. Some of Heidi’s favorite plants will be available for sale after the class.

Hanging Orbs and String Gardens
Make and take either a hanging orb with succulents or a string garden using tropical plants. These lovely creations can hang in your house or on your patio. Plant material provided by UNI Botanical Center. Class Limit: 10

This class is for those who have already taken Hypertufa 101 and who would love to expand their collection! Create a container in the shape of hands that can hold a plant! Natural Wreath Making
After Fall Harvest Festival, many of our plants lay in the gardens until the Spring arrives. Instead of letting these wonderful plants and flowers go to waste, why not enjoy their beauty one last time? For this class, we will take a walk around the Arboretum to find herbs, twigs, leaves, etc, to create beautiful Autumn wreaths that will enchant your holiday visitors!
