Planned Giving

Many choose to name The Arboretum as a benefactor in their estate; gifts invested in The Arboretum’s endowment fund through the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. A planned gift is a lasting gift, one that will make an impact for generations to come. And because the fund is endowed, all donated dollars are invested, and only the income resulting from the investments can be used by the Arboretum on an annual basis.

Bequests of all sizes and forms help shape The Arboretum’s future, and are critical pieces of the puzzle that help ensure The Arboretum will have the resources to fulfill its mission in years to come. While remaining in sync with today’s challenges and celebrations, The Arboretum is constantly looking forward and planning ahead. You can help us do so by remembering The Arboretum in your estate planning.

Added Benefits of Giving
Endow Iowa legislation makes donors to the fund eligible for a 20% state tax credit in addition to the normal federal and state deductions for charitable giving. To receive the tax credit, the fund must be endowed with a community foundation that meets National Standards, like the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.
