Director of Horticulture
Mollie Aronowitz, director@cedarvalleyarboretum.org

No matter the size of the operating budget or membership base, public gardens play a crucial role in any community.  Because more than connecting people to plants, gardens connect people to people by encouraging face-to-face interaction and civic participation.  Gardens provide space to admire art and nature as well as a collective space to honor and celebrate.  As Director of Horticulture, it is my job (and pleasure!) to nurture the flowers, trees and volunteers that make the Arboretum come to life.

Native to the Cedar Valley, I started at the Arboretum June 2008.  I have a degree in Horticulture with an emphasis in Public Garden Management from Iowa State University and have also worked at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, Iowa State’s Reiman Gardens and most recently, Omaha Botanical Gardens.

I'm here to offer assistance needed to make each visitor's experience meaningful. It is a pleasure to introduce new visitors to the Arboretum and remind donors how their gifts enhance our ability to grow and improve, and are reflected in each and every unique area of the site. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need further infomation before visiting; have questions regarding our rental options and what the Arboretum has to offer for meeting space and celebrations; if you'd like more information on our educational programming; or if you simply have any questions whatsoever that are not addressed on our website.
