Volunteer at the Arboretum
Opportunities for the 2015 Season!
Welcome Center Greeter: This person will mainly greet visitors, give them maps and information and help sell items in the Gift Shop. Each shift is 3 hours long, Monday-Saturday 9-7pm and Sunday 11am-5pm. No experience necessary.
Education Committee Member: We need experienced educators to join our Education Committee! We would love to have amazing educational opportunities for the Cedar Valley. This committee would require a greater time commitment during planning times, and could occasionally be needed to volunteer during the summer for youth education events. This person would aid mainly in curriculum development.
In-House Events Committee Chair: This person will lead the Events Committee, which handles our Board Retreat, Annual Meeting, Mid-Summer Celebration, and Putting the Gardens to Bed events. Main duties will include setting up the menu, securing food, deciding on decorations, and hosting these events. This usually is a 1-5 hour per month commitment, depending on if there is an event. No experience necessary.
Docents: During the summer, we give many tours to school/daycare groups, garden clubs, retirement homes, etc. This would be an as-needed position. You will learn about the Arboretum and will be given a general outline of a tour. No experience necessary.
Garden help: We specifically need help in the Rose Garden and the Children’s Garden. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Rob can teach you everything you need to know. Time commitment is 2-3 hours a week!
