Volunteer at the Arboretum

The Arboretum began as a result of volunteers working side by side with the same goal of building a beautiful green space in the Cedar Valley.  Still today, every aspect of The Arboretum grows (and thrives!) because of the hard work of volunteers.

The Arboretum is a dynamic (and fun!) organization to get involved in. Volunteer positions at The Arboretum encompass every area of the organization.  People of all ages, skill levels, talents and interests are encouraged to get involved with opportunities available to fit most schedules.

If you decide you would like to volunteer at The Arboretum, please contact The Arboretum’s Executive Director, Rob Pruitt, at director@cedarvalleyarboretum.org or call (319)226-4966.  You will then be invited to attend a one-hour new volunteer session, where you will get the opportunity to tour the grounds and learn more about volunteering at The Arboretum.  If you are interested in volunteering after your session, we will help you find a good fit with your time schedule and needs of The Arboretum.

Also, plan on attending a Weed & Unwind event, held each Thursday after work. This is an opportunity to volunteer in the gardens while meeting with friends and enjoying whatever drinks or snacks you may choose to bring! Weed & Unwind begins in May and continues throughout the season.
